Maxime Pelletier, a 2nd season in Formula BMW USA
Montreal, March 8, 2007. -- Maxime Pelletier confirmed today he will be back for a second season in Formula BMW USA. The 16 year-old driver who hails out of Montreal, Quebec will race with Indianapolis Gelles Racing and will represent Hi-Rev Skincare, his main sponsor in 2007, on and off the track. After very successful winter training with his new engineer Yvan Turcotte, the 2006 BMW Junior scholar will be at the helm of the #11 Hi-Rev Skincare car.
"I have many reasons to be so optimistic at this time of the year, claims Pelletier. First, I spent all winter working with Yvan (Turcotte), my engineer and could not have found a better person that knows the FB02 and can develop my driving skills. Communication between the two of us is just super : I have tied or bettered a few track records in the process. Then there is my new sponsor Hi-Rev Skincare: it is very exciting to have a skin care product company from California sponsor a young driver. I'm very happy to endorse on and off the track those products dedicated to young men. Finally, I have trimmed down my school program and I have more time to train daily. I have logged more than 4000 miles this winter and we have a lot of data to work with."
"I found a transformed Maxime this year, confirmed team owner Bob Gelles. I found a young dynamic driver gel with his engineer and I know we have a winning combination that can vie for a podium in every round. The testing we have done and the support from Hi-Rev Skincare leaves no doubt in my mind about the future. I wanted Maxime back with us because he's going to be a contender."
Driving and representing
Maxime Pelletier will be involved in driving and representing the Hi-Rev Skincare line on and off the track. "There will be events where I will attend, says Pelletier, and I know this is going to be thrilling. But I know I can better represent Hi-Rev Skincare on the track. In 2005, Yvan engineered the car that lead the championship all year only to end up second in the last round. So, I think we have some unfinished business. Our last testing sessions will take place at Miller Motorsports Park next week and we will complete our winter training program."
Official testing at Road Atlanta
If testing is free in the off-season, everything is according to schedule when the official testing starts in Road Atlanta. "This is fair for all teams, he follows. We have so many official testing sessions and 14 rounds in the championship. Cars are monitored accordingly. This way, I can plan my physical training. This year, my attitude and my concentration are much better. I know what to expect each weekend. We start for real at Road Atlanta in 10 days."
