Gilardoni ready to face an hot weekend at Budapest

23/07/2009 - Less than a day is left to the opening of the Budapest weekend, fifth round of the Formula BMW Europe 2009 championship. Kevin Gilardoni has renewed ambitions for points after the positive performance at Nurburgring two weeks ago whereby he obtained some more points for the classification.

Hungaroring is located on the outskirts of Budapest and has been housing the Hungarian Formula One Grand Prix since 1986. The track is not very frequently used and therefore it is traditionally "dirty" outside of the right trajectory. The winding shape makes overtaking difficult, characteristic that it was even more emphasized in the past when a slow chicane was present after turn three; attempts to solve the overtaking problem were performed in 2003 when the main straight was lengthened to increase the spectacle and the first corner was modified.

Kevin Gilardoni: "I am improving weekend after weekend and the points zone is now constantly at my reach. I had the chance to get acquainted with the track during tests in May therefore I should not have any problems with it. Budapest shows often a sweltering weather but I trained quite a lot for that; everything seems in place for a good result. now we can just wait and see how things will go on track!" The event programme follows (GMT+2):

The two races will be broadcast live on SKY Sport 2.
