DAMS announces its three drivers
Today, DAMS starts a 2-day test session on the Barcelona circuit in preparation for its assault on the Formula BMW Europe Championship, which the team will be entering for the second year on the trot. The majority of races are curtain raisers to the Formula 1 Grand Prix.
In 2008, DAMS finished sixth in the teams' ratings and this season it will bet on three drivers. With Jim Pla, Come Ledogar and Javier Tarancon it will combine experience and fieriness, so the French squad has high hopes for the coming season.
Eric Boullier, team manager: "This season we're involved in a Formula BMW Europe programme and another in the GP2 Series. We were able to manage these two programmes in 2008, and we'll take advantage of this experience to up our game in terms of performance. This double challenge is beneficial for DAMS which can -- as it does for its drivers -- produce talented engineers by giving them the right training. We think we've made the right choice th is year in Formula BMW with three cars entrusted to promising young drivers, and we can't wait to celebrate our first victory."
