Fastest Roti Eater at the Asian Festival Of Speed
Beside introducing the new GT4 Asia Cup series at the Asian Festival Of Speed this weekend, there will be another exciting new chapter in the event with the introduction of the 'Roti Canai' eating competition.
The side event, held on Sunday, 16 May, is open to all spectators at the grandstand and three winners will walk away with RM150 each. There will be three rounds of competition with 15 participants in each round and participation fee is charged at RM10.
"The purpose of this event is to inject some fun for the spectators and everything on that day will be about speed, so it will be a different kind of race" said David Sonenscher, CEO of Motorsport Asia, with a laugh.
Only 45 spectators will be able to take part in the three rounds and each person can only enter the competition once, to be fair to everyone.
"Kayu Nasi Kandar has so kindly offered to provide the Roti Canai for the purpose of the competition and its all in the name of fun. Aside from finding fast race car drivers, we hope to find the fastest Roti eater that weekend too" concluded Sonenscher.
The Asian Festival Of Speed will be held at Sepang International Circuit on 15-16 May 2010 with four FIA Sanctioned race series, GT3 Asia, GT4 Asia Cup, Formula BMW Pacific and the Asian Touring Car Series. This Season Opener will also see the Classic Car Club of Hong Kong Race Series in its first appearance at the event.
There are also some interesting activities happening at the grandstand for the spectators to enjoy, including the ever popular Car Club Gathering & Display. This year, organised by Modders Incorporated who are expecting a great turnout from no less than 30 car clubs from around Malaysia.
A 100 car Autoshow and In-Car-Entertainment Display will also be taking place at the grandstand area with three cars from the ICE Display joining the grid during the Opening Ceremony along with the KL Drumline Corps, 20 lovely AFOS Grid Girls and the beautiful "AFOS Angels".
Entrance to the Asian Festival Of Speed is FREE and the Pit-Walkabout access is only RM10 per person.
