Young British motor racing talent Sam Hancock is to drive for the illustrious Supernova Jordan Junior Team in the FIA International Formula 3000 Championship.

Sam will make his debut at this weekend's Hockenheim Grand Prix, and will race for the remainder of the 2003 season, including rounds at The Hungaroring and Monza. He takes the place of Nicholas Kiesa, who has just graduated into Formula 1.

Londoner Hancock commented "This is an amazing opportunity for me, and a real chance to show what I can do. I've never driven at Hockenhiem before, but it's a great circuit and the car feels good, so I can't wait to get going."

Hancock will almost certainly be the only British driver in the series, and will be teaming up with a British team, the Supernova Racing Jordan Junior Team.

Sam was awarded the "Rookie of the Year" and touted as "the revelation of the season" after an outstanding season in the FIA Sportscar Championship with Kremer Racing, and has his sights firmly set on Formula 1.
