After the pause due to Canada F.1 race, the F.I.A. Formula 3000 International circus is back, at Nürburgring, where will take place the Grand Prix of Europe, fifth round of the Championship. The German track, dominated by the wonderful Adenau castle, is still one of the most fascinating and demanding circuits of the whole "Circus", even if the legendary Nordschleife is no longer used.
Coloni Motorsport prepared himself very carefully the German race, carrying out with his drivers in the past days a test in Magione, testing with good outcomes the setup chosen for Nürburgring race.
For Ricardo Sperafico the next week end will be the chance to redeem himself after Monte Carlo and the BMW-WilliamsF1 Team tester will give 110% in order to get a great performance on a "friend" circuit: in the previous two seasons Ricardo in fact obtained here a third and a second place.
Zsolt Baumgartner, tester JordanF1, following to the excellent fifth place taken in Monaco (his best result in F.3000), present himself at Nürburgring with the wish of repeating and improving what done in Monte Carlo, aiming at the first podium in the Championship.
On Friday morning the first contact with the Nürburgring for the free practice and qualifying, while on Saturday the race will start at h.16.00 (Eurosport h. 16.45)
Ricardo Sperafico, driver:
"At Nürburgring I always got very good outcomes, a third place in 2001 and a second place in 2002. I know the track and I was always able to be quick; we have also a really competitive car and we can for sure aim at the podium and maybe more".
Zsolt Baumgartner, driver:
"Nürburgring is a track I well know and I really like: here I obtained always good result, as in 2002. In the F. Renault Eurocup I took here my first podium and then I'm tied to this circuit. Also the experience I gathered with German Formula 3 will be very useful. I'm looking forward to a great result, as in Monaco, and with a good qualifying -.at least in the first five or six positions -- I can aspire to the podium".
Paolo Coloni, Team Principal:
"We are very confident for the Nürburgring race, were also in 2002 we were very competitive. This circuit is very favourable to Ricardo, he always got good results here; I'm sure that we will able to exploit well his experience and the Zsolt's one, who knows very well the track, to take the victory we missed last year."
