Brno - Italian Formula 3000 reaches the Czech Republic. For the third Event of the season, the organiser decided to get out of Italy and run in one of the classical autosport shrines : the Brno Circuit.
To run on the Czech Circuit, known for its spectacularity, besides bringing prestige to a newborn but promising series, also represents a great show-off opportunity for the young drivers who take part in the championship.
Vilander and Company will have the opportunity to run in front of an international audience and will go together with one of the series which, more than others, attracts fans from all Europe: DTM.
In this particular atmosphere, the F3000 teams will surely run a first-class race.
The actual leader in the standings, Del Monte, will have to check his nearest rivals.
In the last race on the Vallelunga Circuit, Toni Vilander already launched his attack, taking the highest step of the podium. Furthermore, he also succeded in setting the fastest lap, so he is now second in the standings on 12 points, only one point from del Monte.
After them Ciompi, on 11 points, will also try to reach the top of the classification sheet.
Everyone will then be watching with special interest the local driver Jerek Janis. The Czech driver, fourth in the standings on eight points, (the same of his colleague Cacheres) in Vallelunga gained the second step of the podium and we are sure that in his home race will give his best.
Brno will also be the debut race in this championship for Pastor Maldonado, Renault 2000 Champion, and for Engel Mario Ren
