Coloni Motorsport dominated also the second day of the official collective test of F.I.A. Formula 3000 International in Barcelona (Spain) thanks to the excellent performance of the BMW-WilliamsF1 tester Ricardo Sperafico: the young Brazilian improved today his best time, lapping in an extremely good 1.31,184, an unattainable time for his opponents.
A good test-end for Baumgartner too: Zsolt worked a lot in order to test the braking system and in the afternoon he completed even a race simulation, obtaining good comparisons. All that work with race setup didn't prevent Zsolt from significantly improving his best time, scoring a good 1.32,875, which assigned to the Hungarian the 7th position at the end of the test.
Extremely motivated for the excellent results, the whole team will move soon to Imola, for the beginning of the new season with the first race scheduled on Saturday 19, on the occasion of the San Marino Grand Prix.
Ricardo Sperafico, driver: "I'm really satisfied with the results of this test. After Imola, also in Barcelona we were quite fast and constant. The team worked quite well and thanks to their work I could be so quick today and so I'm confident for the start of the 2003 season together with Coloni Motorsport"
Zsolt Baumgartner, driver: "Today the things got better, I think I couldn't find the "limit" because I didn't exploited in the right way the advantage of a new set of tyres. However I'm really close to the firsts, but today Sperafico and Friesacher were exceptional, unattainable! In the afternoon I tested the brakes and I did a race simulation, lapping constantly without any kind of problems. I think I've to improve more for Imola, but the results achieved today are comforting and I'm sure I will obtain great results the next week".
