Two Top Results in "Foreign Territory"
Brno, 3rd September 2006 -- ADM Motorsport left Brno happy and satisfied and with two top results at the Czech Grand Prix cricuit in their pocket. 22year old Roman Luca Persiani captiored another 13 important championship points with P4 in race one and P2 in race two. The other driver, Tor Graves, showed some promising speed, especially on Sunday, until he was involved in an accident.
Race 1 Report
After qualifying 5th Luca Persiani made it to P2 at the start of race one but had to brake hard as polesitter Vitaly Petrov's car still remained standing in the first row of the grid. Following a tough fight with Marcello Puglisi ADM's rookie driver crossed the start finish line in 4th place to add another 5 points to his championship account. Team mate Tore Graves finished 10th ahead of former ski racer Kristian Ghedina.
Race 2 Report
A podium finish was everything Luca Persiani could have wished for, and after Vitaly Petrov got penalised for overtaking under yellow, the outcome was even a second place. A very clean race from start to finish for ADM's #7 car whereas Tore Graves (car #6) was involved in an incident that pushed him off the track. He was able to complete his race but couldn't give his maximum with a damaged exhaust.
"It was a very good weekend for us considering that we were racing in the territory of Charouz. We knew that they were going to be very strong on their home track so our mission was to gain as many points as possible. Luca accomplished that mission, although his qualifying was over after only one flying lap. Finally he has closed the gap to his main rivals in the championship and we are pretty confident that we will keep that momentum in Istanbul, Valencia and Estoril. As for Tor I was surprized by his racing speed and fairly speaking he has made some good progress."
"I wasn't happy at all with my qualifying, because unfortunately I turned off the battery disconnection switch with my ellbow and with one lap only I was able to qualify 5th. Overtaking is obviously very difficult on this circuit it was a tough situation right from the very beginning. Finally it was very important for me to collect the 13 points and the 2nd place on Sunday almost tastes like a win. We are now looking forward to the next race at Istanbul in 3 weeks and I guess, as that's a new track for all of us, ADM Motorsport will be in a very good shape again."
The Milan based team is also delighted with the ongoing progress regarding the future car. The 250hp machine, constructed by Tatuus and N Technology, will replace the old Lola B/99 in 2007 and hopefully open a new chapter in the successful partnership with WTCC.
