MT-TREMBLANT, QUEBEC, CANADA. September 22, 2001. Luciano Gomide has dominated Round 8 of the 2001 USF3 Championship winning his 6th race of the season and the 13th in a row, starting from the pole and running the fastest race lap, with his teammate John C. Antonino close second for the fifth time this year. The Brazilian has started another perfect week end with a new track record of 1.30"80 (168.54 km/h) on friday practice on sunny condition, confirmed with the pole on saturday heavy rain condition , with the time of 1.43"844 in front of John C Antonino and Japanese Kiyoto Yamamoto.

The GOL-Impact Protection System-Eurointernational Dallara F300 VW of Luciano Gomide has lead flag to flag the race, started in wet track condition and finished with a dry track.

John C. Antonino (GrapeKing-Asia Express-Arra-Uptown-RLC Eurointernational Dallara F301 VW) has been all race noose to tail on Gomide's car, with less of a second distance for all 12 race laps.

The Eurointernational's duo has run another great battle in very difficult track condition, running on slick tyres in a track initially wet and becoming dry toward the end of the race. At each lap Antonino has tried to pass Gomide, who has responded to each attempt with his great talent in a very clean battle wheel to wheel.

With 1 lap to go, and only 0.9" of distance, Antonino has tried last attack to Gomide running closer and closer each corner up to last one, where Gomide has been able to respond to last Antonino's attack with smoking wheels, finishing with 1"66 in front of the Californian Rookie, with the fastest race lap of 1'32"393 (165.60 km/h).

Behind Gomide and Antonino, Kyle Herder has been able to take a small margin on Michael Brooks, while Kiyoto Yamamoto finished fifth in front of Shawn Thompson.

"All of us at USF3 have been deeply affected by the tragic events of September 11th "said Luciano Gomide" This win go to all families who mourn the loss of lowed ones. Our prayers go to all Americans"

The two Eurointernational's Dallaras run with American Flags on both sides of the cars.
