Mosport, Ontario, Canada. August 19, 2001. Sunday's Round 4 of 2001 USF3 Championship at the Grand Turismo 3 GP ALMS week end was wet and wild in the best of Mosport tradition.

Brazilian Luciano Gomide (GOL Linhas Aereas Inteligentes, Impact Protection System, Mazziottiwines.com-Eurointernational Dallara F300 VW) confirmed his great talent winning the fourth consecutive race of the 2001 USF3 season and his eleventh in a row since his debut-win at Ste-Croix, Quebec City,Canada, one year ago (Aug.19-20, 2000).

Heavy rain caused the start of the race under yellow flag condition, due to streams of water running across the track. After 3 laps behind the pace car, Luciano Gomide was able to open immediately a nice gap on the rest of the field, without mistakes in very difficult weather condition.

"I know that my Team prepared a great car for the rain and I trust it, without any practice lap on wet tires"

said Gomide"The first 2-3 laps on cold tires were at the edge, but after start to control better the track condition and I loved run on the rain on a fast track like Mosport."

Front row qualifier and Gomide's Teammate John C. Antonino (Asia Express, GrapeKing, Uptown, Arra, RLC, Giumarra.com Eurointernational Dallara F301 VW) did not start the race for a faulty electronic car harness, and Paul Dana (Bertil's Racing Engines Dallara F301 VW) took the second position behind Gomide, followed by Michael Brooks.

" I never drove an F3 on the rain and I have only one hour of practice on dry condition "said Dana" therefore I run very conservative for have no mistakes. Was very difficult up there. I like to thanks Bertil Sollenskog for give me this opportunity in this great USF3 Series."

The rain continued heavy for all 30' race with several spins and crashes involving Michael Brooks, Kiyoto Yamamoto and Mike Cardoso. Gomide run another perfect race and took the checker flag with over 77 sec. advantage on Paul Dana, while Daniel Sirard finished third 1 lap down.

It's the first time ever in an FIA Championship that a Driver remains un-beat for one full year.

Luciano Gomide, also, equals his idol Ayrton Senna `s record of 11 consecutive wins.

In 11 races, Gomide has lead 236 of the 238 laps, and has took all 11 pole positions.

With Mosport win, Gomide increases to 22 points his leadership in the Championship with 40 points, trailed by his Teammate John C Antonino with 18, and Kyle Herder , third , with 11 .

The USF3 championship will return to Mosport for Round 5 and 6 on September 1-2 , due to non-availability of Ste-Croix/Queber City track.
