All Racing Engineering drivers on podium!

The three Racing Engineering drivers have all had a taste of a podium this Sunday at the Estoril track. The great results obtained this weekend included Ricardo Risatti's win, two podiums for Javier Villa and one 3rd position for Filipe Albuquerque. All drivers improved their positions in the championship standings with Javier Villa increasing his gap as championship leader. Racing Engineering continues to lead in the teams' championship for the fifth consecutive year.

Javier Villa, after not being able to properly display his abilities during Saturday's qualifying sessions, which he qualified only in 6th and 3rd positions, looks back at a fulfilling Sunday where thanks to two podiums he could increase his championship lead in respect to the rest of the field. Javier was able to finish the 1st race in 2nd position and the 2nd race in 3rd position. This underlined his excellent and consistent performance throughout the season so far.

Ricardo Risatti, the Argentine in Racing Engineering's number 2stcar, celebrated a well deservedd victory in the 2nd race. The 1 race saw Ricardo starting in 2n position on the grid, but an error in lap 3 caused him to spin and wasn't able to fight for a win anymore. He was able mark the fastest lap time in the race. However, in race 2 Ricardo dominated the field by celebrating an excellent start to finish victory and marking another fastest lap in race. This very positive performance during the weekend at the Estoril track makes everyone at Racing Engineering look forward to the next races, as Ricardo has shown that he is still a championship contender.

During the 1st race Filipe Albuquerque continued his great performance during the weekend and achieved his first podium in the Spanish Formula 3 Championship. Starting the race from 5th position, Filipe finished in a remarkable 3rd place. The young Portuguese has demonstrated a constant improvement from race meeting to race meeting and his work was finally rewarded with his first podium.

Finishing the 2nd race, Ricardo Risatti commented, "I didn't have a very good start, but after leading the field into the first corner everything changed. I quickly found a very good rhythm and didn't feel like I was pushing too hard, but still I increased the gap to the others behind constantly. I am happy with this victory and hope that at the next meeting we will be able to keep up this rhythm and continue improving our performance. The only thing left now is to thank my team for the great work they have done this weekend".

Championship leader, Javier Villa, said, "The 1st race went really well. I made a good start and quickly went from 6th to 4th position. When Aicart and Barba crashed in front of me, I took over the 2nd position. During the afternoon race my car wasn't perfect and my start wasn't too good either. I was fighting a lot during the race and in the end 3rd position isn't bad at all. I am h a p p y that we were able to increase the gap in the championship standings for me as a driver as well as for the team".

After a successful day for Racing Engineering, Alfonso de Orleáns-Borbón said, "This was an amazing weekend where w e were able to increase the gap even further in the championship. Additionally we helped Ricardo take his first championship win and this really makes me happy! Now we only have to get Filipe winning races too, and who knows, maybe we will even be able to have all our three drivers on the podium at the same time. The entire team, once more, has made a superb job this weekend!"
