Everything is ready for the Marlboro Masters Event. Official driver Robert Doornbos pleased with "Good balance and set up" in Nürburgring testing session.
Another important step has been taken today, at Nürburgring track, before leaving for the awaited International Event of the Marlboro Masters, Zandvoort, where Robert will drive in a white-red painted Dallara. The Dutch driver was among 30 drivers taking part in a testing session in preparation of the next appointment on Doornbos "home circuit" that will take place on 8-10th August.
Robert and Team Ghinzani fully covered the board which was mainly focussed on trying the new engine, that has been substituted by Mugen-Honda after Doornbos' problems at Le Mans, and different solutions and components on his Dallara F3. "In this morning session I was in the top 5 positions" - explained Robert - "Then we mainly worked on trying different solutions on my car and we got some quality information from the session. This afternoon the track conditions changed a lot; we continued to work on the car and I managed to use my new set of tyres only in the last 15 minutes, but I could not set a fast time because I was studying the behaviour of my Dallara with the new modifications. I'm really satisfied with the job done and I'm very confident for the Marlboro Masters in Zandvoort. The car is really wonderful, in white and red colours; it seems to be a small Ferrari!! I'm looking forward to go to Zandvoort and have a good performance there. This year I want to finish at podium!"
At the Masters Robert Doornbos will drive with #19
Robert Doornbos (1981, Rotterdam) will be driving the Marlboro Masters 2003 at Zandvoort next 10th August in white and red Marlboro colours. Last 19th June, during a press conference Robert has been presented as the Marlboro official driver (together with his team mate Parente and his team Ghinzani) at the Masters.
