Erik Janis 11th in the F3 Masters

Erik Janis showed a spirited performance in the RTL GP F3 Masters at Zolder, Belgium where he started 26th and finished 11th. The Mucke Motorsport driver made a good start and overtook six competitors during the opening lap. He was later careful to avoid any mistakes on the wet track which caught many others. He decided after a discussion with the team to keep rain tyres till the end and it proved to be the right decision as those who changed to slicks lost places.

Erik Janis: "I was not happy with the qualifying result, today it was better. Of course, I can not be happy because I must improve in the fight for grid positions but be 11th after start from the back is no that bad for Masters. The start was probably my best in the F3 and it helped me to overtake six cars during the first lap. I kept rain tyres til the end and it was decisive thing. Big thanks to the team for a great job."

Peter Mucke: "Erik put in a very good performance. I smiled after the finish and said to him: you can race very well but what about qualifying? Erik knows it, his driver's coach Petr Collins knows it also I know it and believe that he will improve soon in the fight against the clock. It is extremely important part of the game in the F3."
