Mugello, race two: Campana gets the victory back
Piercarlo Ghinzani (Team Ghinzani, Team Owner):
"Zipoli is having a consistent season: so far he has always got points without committing mistakes and the podium of this weekend together with the fourth place keep him within the title fight. Cicognani got closer to the points in race one, objective that he will try to obtain at Misano".
Enrico Glorioso (Gloria Pro Team, Team Principal):
"This was the third official exit of our team: it is therefore normal that a lot still needs to be improved. The first results are starting to arrive and we should have some further improvements at Misano in the next round. I am moderately satisfied by what we have done so far and for the first two points obtained".
Eleonora Marcone (RC Motorsport, Direttore Sportivo):
"This has been a fairly negative exit for our colors: unfortunately an accident sent off both our cars in race two while only Richelmi managed to get into points yesterday".
Angelo Corbetta (Corbetta Competizioni, Team Principal):
"We come back from Mugello points-less and our work on Cinti's car between race one and two gave positive results. The gap to fill is still consistent and our rivals certainly do not stand idle: it's not easy, but we will go for it. Cicatelli could not take part in the races due to some personal reasons but we count on him being back on track from next round at Misano".
Fabio Pampado (RP Motorsport, Team Principal):
"Fumanelli in the past run at Mugello only on a different type of car, therefore he paid the inexperience. Despite the result, the participation to this race has definitely been positive in the context of the sportive programme for this season".
Next round of the Italian Formula 3 Championship is scheduled for 19 July at the Misano World Circuit.
First success in this season for Sergio Campana (Lucidi Motors) who preceeded under the chequered flag of Mugello's race two Pablo Sanchez Lopez (Alan Racing Team) and Daniel Zampieri (BVM-Target). Classification sees Zampieri on the lead at 78 points, followed by Campana (70), Campos-Hull (63) and Zipoli (61).
Protagonists' comment follows.
Giuseppe Mazzotti (BVM-Target, Team Principal):
"Thanks to yesterday's victory and the third place obtained today, Zampieri confirmed his leadership in classification: the battle at his back is still tight and I think that we will see a thrilling championship until the end. Liberati's performance has been positive too, he obtained the first points of his season".
Gabriele Lucidi (Lucidi Motors, Team Owner):
"We ruled with Campana throughout the weekend apart from the fatal final kilometres of race one. The fastest lap in both races and the first victory of the season make the outcome of our weekend extremely positive while the battle for the leadership in classification is open and very battled. Prandi had a few problems with tyres that conditioned his performance; both Nava and himself finished anyway within points in both races".
Alberto Locatelli (Alan Racing Team, Team Owner):
"The two podiums obtained by Sanchez Lopez witness the growth of our Mygales that are getting more and more competitive race after race. Comi instead has never been at ease at Mugello and in this occasion struggled to find the right rhythm on the single lap".
Grazia Troncon (Prema Powerteam, Team Manager):
"Despite not getting the victory, results of both our drivers make the outcome of our weekend positive overall. The championship is really competitive and it is crucial to get points in every single race. Campos Hull is now in thire position and his gap of fifteen points is still widely recoverable."
