Bortolotti shortens the gap in classification thanks to the double pole at Mugello Salvatore Cicatelli (BVM-Target Racing): "Yesterday, during free practice, I almost entirely skipped the first session due to an electric problem, for this reason we did not have enough time to work on the setup. I cannot be but satisfied by the third time obtained today, I hope that it will take me to the podium tomorrow."
Angelo Corbetta (Team Minardi by Corbetta): "In the first free practice session Zipoli was very fast but then, probably due to the higher temperature and the more rubbered tarmac, we did not manage to repeat the same performances and now we are analyzing the data to understand the reasons for that. Piancastelli is building up experience and his performances are improving session after session; Dalle Stelle unfortunately went off in the final stages."
Moreno Leonardi (Europa Corse): "Prandi had a good qualifying session, despite being penalized by some electrical problems. Both Federico and Giulio Glorioso were unfortunately victim of off track exits that conditioned their performances."
With the double pole position obtained today, Mirko Bortolotti (Lucidi Motors) shortened further his disadvantage in classification to the leader Edoardo Piscopo (Team Ghinzani), standing now seven points adrift him.
Mirko Bortolotti (Lucidi Motors): "My car was really in order and I could push hard. In occasion of the first weekend here at Mugello, coming after the winter stop, I was not driving at 100% but now I am definitely in better driving shape. I recovered two more points in classification but the season is still too long to make calculations. I will aim to the victory tomorrow, but what is important is to score points in both races."
Edoardo Piscopo (Team Ghizani): "I expected something better from this qualifying, I was slightly slower in terms of top speed in comparison to Bortolotti and, objectively, it was difficult to be in front of him. The real gap is certainly smaller than what emerges from the results: in my best lap I found yellow flags, without them the gap would have probably be reduced down to a tenth."
