Misano, race two report: Piscopo wins under a deluge
Pier Carlo Ghinzani (Team Ghinzani, Team Owner):
"Under extreme wet the skills of a driver often emerge clear. Piscopo showed once again all his qualities, exploiting in the best possible way the work that the team have done to give him once again a competitive single seater.
Cicognani and Comi never drove before a Formula 3 in such conditions and concluded the race in an intelligent way."
Moreno Leonardi (Europa Corse, Team Manager):
"This has been a positive weekend for our team: Dillmann used his experience to be competitive since free practice while Prandi showed to have achieved a good maturity concluding a race held in critical conditions."
Gabriele Lucidi (Lucidi Motors, Team Manager):
"Bortolotti run today an intelligent race, harvesting some very useful points without taking too many risks. I am satisfied by Nava also, he concluded close to the podium after the technical problems that yesterday prevented him to finish race one. What a shame for Castellacci, victim of aquaplaning, but the third place obtained yesterday saves his weekend."
Angelo Corbetta (Team Minardi by Corbetta, Team Principal):
"I am fairly satisfied by our weekend: we scored points with all the three drivers but the objectives of our team are still much different. We are working in the right direction and I hope that this will lead us to finish the season in a positive manner."
Roberto Venieri (BVM-Target Racing, Team Manager):
"The outcome of our weekend has mostly been decided in qualifying. We had the potential to obtain some higher places in the grid that would have probably allowed us to strive for something better in the two races. Apart from this we did not experience any particular problems".
After a victory starvation three months long, Edoardo Piscopo (Team Ghinzani) got a victory at Misano in race two under a torrential rain. Thanks to this success, with the classification's leader Mirko Bortolotti (Lucidi Motors) third under the chequered flag, the Roman driver reduced to sixteen points the gap that he will have to fill in the four remaining races.
Tom Dillmann (Europa Corse) finished on the second place of the podium and scored also the fastest lap of the race.
