Magione: Piscopo ruler of race one
"Yesterday in the first free practice the car was not completely in order but thanks to the work of the technicians of Ghinzani team already from the second session the balance of the car improved a lot. Today, both in qualifying and in race, the car was really fast and it has been relatively easy after the start to keep a race pace that could prevent opponents' attacks.
"I am satisfied for having extended my leadership in this particularly favourable moment; weather forecasts do not rule rain out for tomorrow, a condition that I never faced behind the wheel of a Formula 3. It might be a new, exciting challenge."
"At the beginning I struggled to keep the race pace of Piscopo, afterwards the car improved and the gap between us stabilized. The second place is obviously a positive result but a victory would have been useful to give a jolt to the classification."
"The feeling with the car was better this morning, then the rain has probably changed the grip and I had some difficulties during the race. The third place is like a victory for me: Salvatore Gatto is an experienced driver and it has been a deed to keep him behind despite my non-optimal setup".
After the double victory at Mugello and the double pole scored today, the supremacy of Edoardo Piscopo continues in race one too. The driver of Team Ghinzani was never questioned in his leadership and he pulled away since the beginning from Mirko Bortolotti, second under the chequered flag.
Great battle for the third place between Francesco Castellacci and Salvatore Gatto, the driver of Lucidi Team eventually achieved the third position. In the points also Zipoli, Cicatelli, Dalle Stelle and Glorioso.
In the CSAI National Trophy, Ivan Tramontozzi won in front of Angelo Fabrizio Comi.
