Imola, race two: second victory of the season for Richelmi ahead of Ramos and Krohn
The weekend at Imola, third round of the Italian Formula 3 championship, will be archived with a good victory by Stephane Richelmi (Lucidi Motors) who preceeded Cesar Ramos (BVM-Target) and Jesse Krohn (RP Motorsport) under the chequered flag of race two. The driver from Monaco, fifth on the starting grid, has been protagonist of an authoritative recovery that took him to the lead during the seventh race. A contact pushed his team mate Sergio Campana and Fredric Vervish (RC Motorsport) out of the race while the two were fighting for the fourth position in the initial stages.
Andrea Caldarelli (Prema Junior) finished right at the feet of the podium, as he slipped fourth after the start from the front row and was followed by the winner of race one and leader of the classification Daniel Mancinelli (Team Ghinzani). The points zone was completd by Edoardo Liberati (Prema Junior), who was in front in the initial stages before being defeated by the attacks of Richelmi and Ramos, Christopher Zanella (JD Motorsport), Gianmarco Raimondo (Lucidi Motors), first of the rookies, Samuele Buttarelli (Prema Junior) and Kevin Giovesi (Eurointernational).
Mancinelli keeps the leadership in the classification with 65 points. His margin to Ramos is reduced anyway to just three points while Richelmi is third at 54; Cladarelli follows at 47. Among the rookies, Giovesi pulls away quite sensibly and reaches 90 points; Chaves is second with 68 points and Raimondo third at 64.
The Italian Formula 3 championship will be back on track next 25 July at Mugello.
