Adria, race two: Kamitsakis rules, the comment of protagonists
Eleonora Marcone (RC Motorsport , direttore sportivo):
"We are very satisfied. We worked hard to preparing the championship and the victory harvested today awards all our efforts. Kamitsakis has been brilliant in race two: he did not commit any mistakes and did not feel the pressure of an expert driver such as Zipoli; our motivations are now even stronger and we hope to be in position to line up the second single seater soon".
Alberto Locatelli (Alan Racing Team, Team Manager):
"The podium is certainly a positive beginning for our chassis that made its debut on the Italian Championship. Sanchez proved to be able to keep the pace of the leaders while Comi, with a different qualifying, would have probably scored some points. Back home, we will focus on the development of the car as well as on the preparation of the third single seater that we hope to line up from the next round at Magione".
Fabio Pampado (RP Motorsport, Team Manager):
"Ceccon made a debut that amazed a lot of people, he did not commit big mistakes and concluded both races within points. I am really satisfied by this result that awards the choice to bet on young talents".
Moreno Leonardi (Europa Corse, Team Principal):
"A contact in race one and a problem at the start of race two spoiled the weekend of Dalle Stelle but, despite the result, lap times make us hopeful for the next races".
Angelo Corbetta (Corbetta Competizioni, Team Principal):
"We suffered a net performance decrease from pre-seasonal tests and despite all our efforts we did not find a precise reason for this. No need to hide our unsatisfaction, we will be right on track in the next few days to be competitive at Magione".
Enrico Glorioso (Gloria Pro Team, Team Owner):
"We hoped to harvest something more in this weekend at Adria. Some episodes penalised us but the race pace of our drivers was good. I am pretty sure that things will be better at Magione".
Lead from the pole to the victory for Stefanos Kamitsakis (RC Motorsport) in race two at Adria, opening round of the Italian Formula 3 2009 Championship. The Greek driver preceeded Marco Zipoli (Team Ghinzani) and Sergio Campana (Lucidi Motors) at the end of a race that lived thrilling moments especially during the initial stages. Protagonists' comments follow.
Giuseppe Mazzotti (BVM-Target, Team Manager):
"We come back home from Adria on top of the classification and confident to be competitive after obtaining with Zampieri the pole position and a victory. The championship is still long and it is too early to draw conclusions but we definitely started with the right foot. We are working very well with Liberati too, as soon as he will get a bit more experience he will certainly award us several satisfactions".
Angelo Rosin (Prema Powerteam, Team Owner):
"The outcome of our weekend is positive overall. We did not get the victory but did not lack competitiveness: Campos-Hull got close to the pole position and scored the best lap in both races and got some points that turn out to be useful for the championship. Adria is a race whereby Castellacci struggles to get his best and his performance resented of this".
Piercarlo Ghinzani (Team Ghinzani, Team Owner):
"As expected, the competitiveness level of the championship increased further; despite this Team Ghinzani proved to be there, fighting with Zipoli for race two's victory. I am satisfied by the race performance of Cicognani, we will work with him to improve his qualifying".
Gabriele Lucidi (Lucidi Motors, Team Manager):
"The championship promises to be really tight: from our side, Campana qualified just at a tenth from the pole and he kept the race pace of leaders; Prandi too, despite the result spoiled by an episode in the final stages of race one, lapped on interesting laps showing that he has the potential to do good things. Nava payed a bit the absence from winter tests but he gradually improved, therefore I think he will not have any problems at Magione".
