Another double victory for Corbetta, Marchese keeps the leadership
01/07/07 - Fabrizio Crestani, after yesterday's victory got the first place again in race two held today at Mugello. He was followed by Mirko Bortolotti and by Nicola De Marco.
Pablo Sanchez Lopez, first under the chequered flag, has been penalized of 25'' for an early start. Sixth position for Efisio Marchese, who keeps the classification leadership with 54 points, but he is now followed by Bortolotti who is one point shy. Next round of "Campionato Italiano F.3" is scheduled again at Mugello in three weeks time.
Alberto Locatelli (Alan Racing, Team Manager)
"We are much more than angry. I dont want to talk about any early start in yesterday's race. I think it is umbelieveable a penalization after the race ending: after a 'stop and go' or a 'drive through' Sanchez would have had the chance to push hard and recover. The race result has been decided outside of the track this time."
Fabrizio Crestani (Team Minardi by Corbetta)
"Our misfortune is over and the team lived a weekend at the level everyone expected. I come back home with the third place of the classification, which I think I can improve in three weeks time when we will race again on this track".
Mirko Bortolotti (Team Minardi by Corbetta)
"I had some problems when Marchese spun in front of me, then I kept my position until the end of the race. I got some more and very important points: now I am only one point shy of the lead of the classification. Not that bad for a rookie!"
Nicola de Marco (Lucidi Motors)
"Mugello is a very technical race and this podium concludes a tough weekend for us, whereby we had some problems in finding the best setup. We worked in sight of next two races scheduled on this very same track, when I reckon we will be more competitive".
