MISANO: NEW VICTORY FOR CAMPANA, ZIPOLI ON THE PODIUM TOO
New success for Sergio Campana at Misano in the fourth round of the Italian Formula 3 Championship. The driver from Modena, started from the first raw, got into the lead at the getaway and kept his position until the chequered flag. He also scored the fastest lap of the race. Race two lasted just a few meters since he has been flawlessly involved, together with Francesco Prandi, in an accident started at the getaway by Daniel Zampieri, subsequently penalized by 25 seconds by stewards.
Positive debut with the team for Marco Zipoli: eighth place in qualifying, fifth place in race one and second place in race two. Prandi into points in race one, eighth under the chequered flag before the unfortunate episode of race two.
The classification sees now Campana in second place with 91 points, 2 adrift from the leader. Zipoli is third at 80 while Prandi is tenth at 13.
Gabriele Lucidi (Lucidi Motors, Team Manager):
"Campana confirmed to be competitive throughout the weekend, he won authoritatively race one and got closer to Zampieri in the classification. A positive outcome despite his involvement in an accident in race two caused by himself that at the getaway prevented him from obtaining some probable further points and involved Prandi too. Great performance from Zipoli who got on the podium at his debut with the team and strengthened his position in the championship. Prandi confirmed his growth in race one with three more points, what a shame he could not repeat himself in race two".
The Italian Formula 3 championship will be back on track next 2 August on the circuit of Varano de' Melegari (Parma).
