IMOLA, STEEP WEEKEND FOR LUCIDI MOTORS
Steep weekend for Lucidi Motors in the sixth round of the Italian Formula 3 championship.
On Saturday, in qualifying, Sergio Campana was author of the sixth time but could not exploit in the best way the final part of the session. At his back, Edoardo Liberati, improving, was seventh while Francesco Prandi concluded with the seventeenth fastest lap.
At the start of race one, the Emilian driver has been skilled in overtaking Zipoli and achieving the fifth position, kept till the chequered flag. Liberati finished into the points in ninth position, while Prandi scored a good recovery concluding in fourteenth position.
Unlucky race two for Campana, forced to a pit-stop due to a contact with a rival causing a puncture on his Dallara. Back on track, the fastest lap of the race was just missed by only six thousands before getting the chequered flag in sixteenth position. Liberati finished again in the top ten, while Prandi concluded thirteenth.
Gabriele Lucidi (Team Principal):
"Unfortunately, this is not a very lucky weekend for Campana and today, in race two, for the third weekend in a row, he has been victim of a contact that penalyzed him. It is still positive to have missed the fastest lap for six thousands only: the championship is still open but we will need to great performances at Vallelunga and Monza. Liberati lived his best Formula 3 weekend, harvesting five points, while Prandi, despite finishing the races, could not be in the top ten".
Next round of the Italian Formula 3 championship is scheduled for 20 September at Vallelunga (Rome).
