Edoardo Piscopo dominates to win both F.3 Italia races at Adria

Edoardo Piscopo completed a perfect weekend at Adria, in the penultimate round of the 2008 F.3 Italia. The driver from Rome, who came at the racetrack with a 16-point gap from the top spot, started to attack since practice, and cruised to a double pole position in Saturday's qualifying session. At the wheel of the #16 Dallara F308-FPT fielded by Ghinzani Racing, Piscopo dominated Race 1, clocking the fastest lap of the day. On Race 2 he managed repeat after controlling the attacks of Mirko Bortolotti in the initial stages, also collecting a last-gasp bonus point for the fastest lap. Thanks to this great hat-trick, Edoardo cut down his gap to 8 point, and looks forward to his home racetrack at Vallelunga. The final round of the season, starting in three weeks, will put a total of 24 points on the table. Edoardo will count on his momentum to try repeating the huge Adria weekend and make a final assault to title.

Edoardo Piscopo

"I'm really delighted by this weekend's results, as I was finally able to bring the fight for title up again. Two rounds ago we were almost 20 points off: we turned them down to 16 before Adria and to 8 at the end of the event. I'm fully-focused on the final races of the season, starting at Vallelunga in less than three weeks. It'll be hard: I'll have to race perfectly, and try to repeat this weekend's results. I also hope to have a bit of good luck we've been missing so far."
