Sarrazin loses Zolder win

Racing Engineering's Stephane Sarrazin has been stripped of his victory in the first Superfund World Series by Nissan race at Zolder this weekend. The Frenchman was penalised 25seconds for passing Marc Gene before the start/finish line after the Safety Car pulled off following a mid-race incident.

Gene has provisionally been handed the win, but this too is under dispute from new second place man, Bas Leinders, who claims the Spaniard missed the Chicane on lap 16 of the race.

EARLIER REPORT:

Race 1 result under review.

The result of the first Superfund World Series by Nissan race at Zolder is under review. Stephane Sarrazin won the race on the road from Marc Gene and Bas Leinders, after he passed Gene at the restart following a mid-race Safety Car period.

However, the race officials are examining the move to see if it took place before the start/finish line.

Confirmation of the finishing order will follow in due course.
