DISAPPOINTING WEEKEND FOR DAMS

After the disappointing result of qualifying yesterday, DAMS had to hope for good race circumstances and luck to have any chance of scoring some points. Unfortunately, in both races, Pastor MALDONADO did not cross the finish line and DAMS is leaving Zolder with no points for the 1st event of the season. In race 1 MALDONADO could never find the speed to have a chance of finishing in the points. In race 2 a problem appeared early in the race, the car had oversteering in the right corners, and although Pastor had the opportunity to score points he lost control of the car when he was 7th. The team is enquiring on the problem which may have come from the tire.

With this added to DANIELSSON's accident yesterday, the weekend ends with disappointment, but it was great to be able to welcome back Alx when he returned to the team garage today. He was able to join his family at the hotel last night and came to support his team mate in today's races. It is confirmed that Alx will not race at Monaco (only 3 weeks from now), the doctors could not yet ascertain if he will be fit enough for Valencia, but this will be confirmed before the end of the Month.

After the disappointment of this weekend we have all been so happy to see Alx coming back in the team. The time has now come to analyse this weekend and head to Monaco with the ambition to fight for the win as we are used to doing. We also hope that Alx will make a quick recovery and can get back in the car as soon as possible. His temporary replacement for the Monaco event will be confirmed at a later date.
