If Alcaniz hadn't been too kind to Draco Racing and its drivers on Saturday, the Sunday of F.Renault 3.5 running on the Motorland Aragon track was a completely different story.

In typical winter weather, with low temperatures and heavy rain, Nico Müller clinched an excellent 5th place while André Negrão closed the race in P8, both in the points to bring smiles back into the team owned by Guto Negrão and directed by Simone Gigli (sporting) and Andrea Mancini (technical).

The day had started well with a strong showing in a very wet Qualifying that saw Müller and Negrão lock up 4th row finishing back to back in P7 and P8. The race was held under and even stronger rain shower, so heavy that the Stewards opted for a Safety-Car start.

When the green flag was finally waved the conditions where a nightmare, with no visibility because of spray and virtually no grip. The Draco drivers boasted a masterful performance and gained some places running as high as 5th (Negrão) and 6th (Müller), but around half-race André incurred into a spin and Nico inherited fifth place, holding it up to the checkered flag.

Negrão managed to get back on track and crossed the line in 8th place, still a good result for the team.

With this result Müller is now 10th in the drivers standings with 20 points, while Negrão scores the first four points of his season. Now the team is heading for the workshop where they will prepare for next round, the glamorous Monaco F1 weekend.

Nico Müller (Q2 - P7; R2 - P5): "It was a good day for us, but it's hard to be happy after such a race. It was really dangerous out there, we couldn't see a thing and we had aquaplaning everywhere. It was just a matter of staying on track and being reasonably quick while doing it, something that I managed to do, but I think that given the conditions cancelling the second race would have been a good option".

André Negrão (Q2 - P8; R2 - P8): "It was one of the most difficult races in my whole career, I'm not sure allowing us to start was a good idea. Rain and visibility weren't the only issues, the fact is that here in Alcaniz track drainage is less than ideal and so we had puddles everywhere, you never knew which was the safe spot to put your tyres on. Making mistakes was easy and I spun twice, but despite that I still managed to finish P8 which isn't too bad".
