Dean Stoneman escaped injury after a heavy crash during the first day of Formula Renault 3.5 testing at Jerez.
The Briton, moving to the series with DAMS after competing in GP3 last year, went off right before the "Aspar" corner in the afternoon session, crashing against the wall and causing heavy damage to his car.
He was taken to the medical centre, where he was cleared.
Stoneman had posted the third quickest time in the morning session.
DAMS is trying to repair the car for the start of the second day of testing tomorrow.
