The young Argentinian driver Nicolás Filiberti finished a weekend with different luck in the third race of the Telefónica World Series by Nissan disputed in Albacete, Spain.
Filiberti had problems in the gearbox and in his brakes during the qualify session, which put him in the back of the grid for the two races of Sunday.
In the first competition after started eighteen, Nicolás was in ten position when a mechanical problem caused him to quit the race in lap seven.
The race was won by Jean Christophe Ravier after passed the poleman Andre Couto in the start. After the race, the winner said: ¨Today (sunday) I obtained my first victory since 1999 when I run inf the French Formula 3¨.
In the second race, Filiberti started 12º. He was in six position until the pitstop when the team took four more seconds and he lost some places. After the 28 laps Filiberti finished in eighth.
Bas Leinders (KTR Team) won the second race and said that he want to fight for the championship this year.
After the two races Filiberti said to the press: ¨Luckly I could complete the second race. It wasn´t a good weekend. The most important is that we took three points for the championship, I hope to make a better job in Monza¨
With this result, Filiberti is fifth with 25 points nin the championship, the leader is Ricardo Zonta with 108 points and second Bas Leinders with 79.
Next race will be July 7th. in Monza.
