The Basque driver replaces Bernoldi in the Collective Test
Barcelona, 14 September 2004 - Ander Vilariño is to return to the World Series by Nissan, but only as a test driver for GD Racing, during the Collective Test day organised in Estoril (Portugal), prior to the celebration of the 6th Round of the World Series. The Basque driver will replace Enrique Bernoldi, who will test with BAR Honda in Silverstone.
"I feel very honoured and grateful with Cristiano Giardina", said Vilariño, "When I left the Team I had no more funds for the rest of the Season and I was obliged to reject any racing program in this or any other Series. GD Racing is fighting for the Championship and they wanted someone with experience. It is not my car but I will try to help the Team as much as I can".
Cristiano Giardina, the GD Racing Team Manager clarifies: "We have always liked Ander Vilariño. Maybe this is the beginning of a future agreement."
