LOS ANGELES, CA -- June 18, 2003 -- Venezuelan Milka Duno has earned sponsorship from one of Venezuela's largest companies and will compete in the 2003 World Series Light Division of Europe's popular Superfund World Series by Nissan.

Milka, Venezuela's 2000 "Driver of the Year", has secured the support of Petroleos de Venezuela S.A. (PDVSA). PDVSA is Venezuela's state-owned oil company and has proven reserves of 77.9 billion barrels of oil -- the most outside the Middle East -- and is one of the top exporters of oil to the United States. PDVSA's exploration and production take place in Venezuela, but the company also has refining and marketing operations in the Caribbean, Europe and the U.S.

"I am so very proud to have the support of such a large and respected corporation," said Milka. "That they are from my home country of Venezuela is even more special to me. As I have raced all over the world the past few years, I have been proud to be a representative of Venezuela in many countries. I will continue to do so with even more pride as a representative of PDVSA."

Milka begins her competition toward the World Series Light Championship with the first race of the season this weekend, June 22, at the famed Monza circuit in Italy. The season will also see her compete at the EuroSpeedway in Lausitz, Germnay, the A-1 Ring in Austria, Magny Cours in France and in Catalunya, Valencia, Jarama and Albacete, Spain.

This season will mark Milka's 3rd year in the series -- that is the last step on the racing ladder to Formula 1 -- and she will once again compete as a member of the highly respected Vergani Racing team based in Italy. Milka will race the #12 car -- the new World Series Light car designed by Dallara with a 275 hp AER engine that was developed specifically for the car.
