Roberto Merhi will drive for Pons Racing in the Formula Renault 3.5 series in 2015, the Spanish team has announced.
Merhi joined the championship last year with Zeta Corse after two years in the DTM, and he finished in third place in the standings behind Carlos Sainz and Pierre Gasly.
The Spaniard drove for the Caterham Formula One team in some practice sessions and said he expected to race for the team in the finale in Abu Dhabi, although that did not happen.
Pons announced on Wednesday Merhi will stay in FR3.5 for a second consecutive season. He will begin working with the team in tomorrow's first test of 2015.
Earlier this week, Colombian Oscar Tunjo parted ways with the team due to budget concerns.
Pons is yet to announce who will partner Merhi.
