Lotus hoped that this weekend at Aragon will get rid of bad luck, which was accompanied two black-and-gold cars at Monza and ruined placement in the top 10. Marco Sørensen confirmed in qualifying for the first race that if he is not hampered by technical problems, he is one of the fastest drivers on the grid.

Qualifying he started fantastically and just before the end he was on provisional pole-position, but in the end fell to fifth place.

But Antonio Felix da Costa was disqualified for lack of fuel and Sørensen moved up to fourth place, to the second row of the grid.

Starting lap of the race was very challenging, but Marco kept his cool and still held among the five fastest drivers. Although in many battles he fell to ninth place. He managed to held just behind his opponents, but failed to overtake them back and as ninth he drove through the checkered flag.

Marlon Stockinger suffered from heavy tradic in qualifying, and the result was 18th time, which he failed to improve in the race.

Marco Sørensen: "I think that in Spain we have good speed. In qualifying, the track gradually dried out, even though I was the fastest, a position I could not hold up to the end, but fifth position was not bad.

I had a good pace and I was trying to move up, but unfortunately I braked on the white line, which was still wet, and I went off the track. Thus I lost another position and then I could nothing to do, because the speed on the straights again was not the best. "

Marlon Stockinger: "This weekend definitely did not start with my expectations. In qualifying I could not do a clean lap. On Saturday's race I want to forget as quickly as possible, I am just concentrating on tomorrow."

Robert Vavřík, team manager: "Today we have reached our first points, but still it was not right. Marco could move forvard in the beginning, but he slipped of on a wet white line.

Marlon fought for position until the end of the race, but no points gained. We hope that tomorrow we will be better."
