Draco Racing 2011 season line-up

The International Draco Racing Team presents its new drivers for the 2011 season: Stephane Richelmi and Andre Negrгo

International Draco Racing announced today that Monaco's Stephane Richelmi and Brazil's Andre Negrгo will form the team line-up at the Renault 3,5 WSR championship supported by the French manufacturer. The season starts on April 16th and 17th at the Spanish Motorland Aragon complex, at Alcaniz city. Already a tradition on the team's successful story, Richelmi and Negrгo have been selected upon factors that go beyond lap times clocked at end of season tests carried out in Barcelona and Aragon last December, as team manager Nadia Morini explains: "Draco's ultimate goal has always been to develop young drivers in and out race tracks in order to form great champions."

Nadia Morini and race engineer Andrea Tesi outlined that among other points Richelmi and Negrгo have been selected upon their driving capacity, ability to adapt to new tracks and concentration. The two drivers will first work as team mates at the pre-season tests scheduled for 8-9 march at Alcaniz.

Andre Negrгo (Brazil)

Born in Sгo Paulo on June, 17th 1992, Andre Negrгo has already shown his abilities at various international racing series, mainly at the 2010 Eurocup F-Renault 2.0. In 2011 the young Brazilian will take a major step forward alongside the most victorious team in the 3.5 category, a major opportunity for Negrгo, who had its first contact with the Draco team during the end of season tests last December. The brazilian will be youngest driver on the grid.

Stephane Richelmi (Monaco)

Born in Monte Carlo (March, 17th 1990), Stephane Richelmi was noted by the Draco team for his performance at the 2010 Italian F3 Championship, where he won several races and finished second. These results justified an invitation to be evaluated closely at the end of season tests and, later, his confirmation for the 2011 season.

Nadia Morini (Italy), team manager

"Our drivers choice for 2011 is based upon our philosophy to develop drivers rather than sign consolidated names. Our 2011 line-up is formed by truly young names and I must say that hadn't been easy to sign Richelmi and Negrгo also because there were two other newcomers on our list. Upon some deep reflection we made our choice and I'm sure we made the right decision: I trust both their ability to develop their skills as much my team's capacity. I may use a popular Italian saying: "You known a bright Day at the morning." We must work hard from Day one and I already made it clear to our engineers that we must find out how to improve our cars performance and that mistakes aren't included on our to do list. In 2011 we have an open book left by Adriano Morini, which we must keep on hand and know by heart, as it is about tour passion. He also left us a legacy built upon many seasons. To my drivers I ask what they can deliver and I will always be by their side; to my team I made it clear that I am a strong women ant that they must as passionate for Draco as I am. Working together we'll made two champions out of these two Young drivers."
