Juan Cruz Alvarez waited lot of time until his debut at Europe. The young Argentinian driver lived last sunday a very important day in his carreer, that started some years ago in karts with greats results. Now Alvarez have the important chance to show his talent around the Old Continent. Juan Cruz is driver of the Argentinian team Reyco Motorsport that has the support of the A.C.A. (Automovil Club Argentino) like in the olds days of Fangio and González first and Reutemann then.

Don`t forget that Juan Cruz comes from Arrecifes, a town at Argentina that already gave two drivers to Formula One: Froilán González, the first winner with Ferrari in a Grand Prix in 1951 and Norberto Fontana, who disputed four races with Sauber in 1997 and now races (with amazings results) in the Argentinian Championship of T.C. 2000 with Toyota

Alvarez is in a new category. The World Series Light is in the eyes of the F1 teams.

Dspite the very good times did during the winter tests, this weekend at Monza was a sample that it won`t be easy for the Argentinian driver to fight against his rivals with more money and experience in Europe. The big candidate seemes to be Adrián Vallés. The Spanish driver dominated all the weekend at Monza.

Flavio Briatore, always seeking youngs drivers, already put him in his develop program (that has the Argentinian José María López) after he took the 2002 championship of the Formula Junior and some good results at the Nissan 2000. ¨Is the man to beat¨ says Reinaldo Cozzani, team manager of the Reyco Motorsport.

The other candidate because of his name is Mathias Lauda, son of the former F1 champion. ¨It`s hard to be Lauda¨ said the Austrian also has the personal support of his father and of course the money.

About what heppened this sunday at the season opener, Vallés gave a sample of his talent winning the two races. In the first one an accident left Alvarez with no chances.

However the second competition the Argentinian completed a very important work after start eighth and arrived fifth at 13s993 of the winner.¨ After a complicate weekend we took a good result in the second race and we did a step foward with the team, which important for us. Besides Juan Cruz turned in the sames times of the leaders in a category with a very good level of drivers¨ said Cozani after the activity stoped.

The next round will be on July 20th. at Germany.
