Following last weekend’s United States Grand Prix, during which race stewards gave Red Bull Racing’s Max Verstappen a five-second time penalty for “gaining a lasting advantage’ in an overtaking move on Ferrari’s Kimi Räikkönen, FIA Formula One Race Director Charlie Whiting yesterday gave a press conference ahead of this weekend’s Mexican Grand Prix to explain the procedure by which the stewards arrived at their decision.
