Ricardo Zonta crashed his BAR-Honda heavily in testing at Monza yesterday -- his second big testing incident of the year. He had previously launched his car over the catchfence at Silverstone's Stowe corner in April.

This time it appears that the Brazilian experienced a front brake failure; as he approached the Parabolica corner at some 300 km/h, he failed to slow down, and had to induce a spin to reduce his speed.

The car then spun backward into the tire barrier, and destroyed both the rear wing and the gearbox, though the carbon fiber monocoque was not badly damaged.

Zonta escaped the incident with bruises to his right leg and both knees, but the team is now down to two cars for the remainder of the current Monza testing session.
