Jaguar Racing began their Belgian Grand Prix weekend in highly promising fashion, with the cars of Bjorn Wirdheim, Mark Webber and Christian Klien recording fourth, seventh and eighth fastest times in the opening practice session.

"The car feels very stable and secure, particularly in the high speed corners," said Webber. "It's a reflection both of how this track suits our car and of the very good work done in preparation and simulation by the guys behind the scenes. It's not perfect but it's a very good base to go forward from."

"I was very pleased with both my own performance and that of the car's," said Wirdheim. "I love the track and it's a place where you can really feel the difference you can make. We did a lot of good work on tyre choice and set up. I'm really looking forward to continuing with the work this afternoon."
