Frank Williams is a little puzzled by the performance of Jaguar's Antonio Pizzonia so far this season after the Brazilian showed so much promise. Pizzonia was formerly a test driver for Williams and was snapped up by Jaguar to partner Mark Webber for 2003, but has been overshadowed by the Australian in the first four races.

"I'm confused, he did a very good job for us," said Williams of Pizzonia's time as team tester. "I'm sure that Mark Webber isn't straight out a second and a half quicker than Antonio."

"I'm sure Antonio is psyched up by the difference and perhaps he isn't controlling his mind enough in order to improve his car enough to get closer. He is making the odd mistake, but that's just youth and inexperience."

Webber has been putting in some impressive performances, qualifying third and fifth in the last two races -- although his grid positions have yet to produce points. Pizzonia, by comparison, qualified a lowly fifteenth at Imola. However, he did go on to finish the race, the first time a Jaguar has completed a Grand Prix this year.

Former Jaguar boss Niki Lauda, who was one of those responsible for hiring Pizzonia, recently said that the Brazilian needs more guidance from the team but it appears none is forthcoming.
