The latest rumor making its rounds this week has been the impending arrival of CART star Juan Pablo Montoya at Williams, and the subsequent transfer of the current Williams #2, Jenson Button, to Jordan.

However, this is being explicitly denied by both teams. Jordan stated that they are happy with their current drivers: "There is no truth in the rumour. There have been no talks and Eddie is not looking to go in that direction."

Williams also reiterated its plans to retain the young Briton's services for the foreseeable future. The situation is still the same," said a team spokesperson in this week's edition of Autosport magazine. "Both Frank Williams and Patrick Head have said that no decision will be taken until they have heard from Chip Ganassi."

While Williams has a long-term contract with Montoya, Ganassi's CART team has an option to retain him for a third year for their 2001 CART championship challenge.
