On the third day of testing Antonio Pizzonia joined the BMW WilliamsF1 Team's official race driver, Mark Webber, as preparations for the new season continued.

Conditions at the Spanish track were cooler than on Monday and Tuesday, with temperatures reaching no more than 15°C, however there was bright sunshine, and little wind, throughout the day.

After two days of testing, BMW WilliamsF1 Team test driver, Nick Heidfeld, took a well-deserved break, as Antonio started test work for the first time this year.

Mark continued with tyre evaluations for the BMW WilliamsF1 Team's tyre partner, Michelin, completing 72 laps on his way to setting the fastest time of the day, 1:16.437 minutes. This is the third successive day that the BMW WilliamsF1 Team has topped the timesheets.

Antonio focussed on set-ups, the Brazilian completing 64 laps and posting a best time of 1:17.675 minutes.

Tim Newton (Test Team Manager, WilliamsF1):

"Antonio Pizzonia joined Mark Webber at Jerez today for his first test session of 2005. Unfortunately, however, we experienced a number of technical problems which prohibited Antonio from running at full pace. Mark achieved the quickest time of the session while concentrating on tyre evaluations with Michelin in the interim FW26. Nick Heidfeld will join Antonio tomorrow for the penultimate day of the test."
