BMW WilliamsF1 Team test drivers, Gené and Pizzonia, were on duty at Jerez de la Frontera today, as the final test before the mid-summer break got underway.

During August there is a total ban on testing, therefore this week's three-day test at Jerez is the BMW WilliamsF1 Team's final opportunity to prepare for the forthcoming German, Hungarian and Belgian Grands Prix.

The perfect weather conditions, which saw temperatures reach 36 degrees C, allowed Marc Gené and Antonio Pizzonia to complete their respective programmes without any problems.

Both drivers concentrated on chassis testing and set-ups in the morning, before switching to tyre evaluation for the Hockenheim and Hungaroring races in the afternoon.

Antonio completed 86 laps, posting a best time of 1:18.252, while Marc completed 97 laps, with a best time of 1:19.151.

Tim Newton, Test Team Manager WilliamsF1:

"For our last test before the obligatory testing ban commences in August, Marc and Antonio were running the FW26's, concentrating on tyre testing in the morning and set-up work in the afternoon, in preparation for the forthcoming races at Hockenheim, Hungary and Spa."
