Marc Gené and Antonio Pizzonia were on duty once again today, completing a total of 129 laps at Jerez de la Frontera, for the BMW WilliamsF1 Team. Bright and sunny conditions with temperatures rising up to 33 degrees enabled the BMW WilliamsF1 Team to continue the programme, which began at Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, yesterday. Testing duties were shared, once again, between Marc Gené and Antonio Pizzonia.

Marc continued his tyre evaluation programme for the French Grand Prix on 4th July, completing a total of 84 laps and posting a best time of 1:18.116minutes. The Spaniard completed more than a full race distance. His work was of considerable interest to Michelin as track temperatures reached 57 degrees, putting the tyres under tremendous strain.

At the same time Antonio lapped the 4.428km circuit 45 times, setting a quickest time of 1:18.809minutes, thus improving on yesterday's personal best by about a second. He focused on testing new traction control components for the forthcoming European races.

Tim Newton (Test Team Manager, WilliamsF1):

"On our second day at Jerez we continued with the work we started yesterday, with Marc testing various set-up options on the FW26 as well as progressing the tyre testing schedule with Michelin. He also completed some systems checks on the car this afternoon. Antonio, meanwhile, concentrated on development work of the FW26."

Marc and Antonio will conclude the team's testing programme tomorrow.
