For the first time an FIA hearing will be televised when the Williams appeal against Ralf Schumacher's penalty from the German Grand Prix will go live on August 19th. Schumacher was deemed the guilty party in the first corner incident at Hockenheim that took out three championship contenders, including himself, and two other cars.

Williams is appealing against the penalty, which could see Schumacher demoted ten places on the grid at the Hungarian GP next weekend, on the grounds that it was not, as stewards judged, an avoidable accident.

The judgement of the hearing will be publicized in a press release the following day but news footage will be made available to Reuters and SNTV. Formula One Management agreed to the filming, which will be carried out on the day by RTL.
