Williams has confirmed Ricardo Sperafico as official test driver for 2003 along side Marc Gene. Sperafico test drove the FW23 on a few occasions in 2001 while competing in International F3000 for the Petrobras Junior Team.

The Brazilian won the Italian Euro3000 championship in 2000 and competed in F3000 in 2001 and 02, finishing fifth over all last season. Ricardo has two brothers, twin Rodrigo and Alex, who also race in F3000.

Sperafico will take over from fellow Brazilian Antonio Pizzonia, who was Williams test driver in 2002 before being signed up to Jaguar as race driver. Marc Gene has been with Williams since 2001 after driving for Minardi in 1999 and 2000.
