Sauber and McLaren were still the only teams testing at the Catalunya circuit in Barcelona, Spain today. David Coulthard piloted the hybrid MP4-16B and set the fastest lap time of the day; however not enough to get back the track record.

Yesterday, McLaren's test driver Alexander Wurz set the new record [Coulthard's record]. It appears that the McLaren team has plenty of competition among themselves.

Wurz sat out today as Kimi Raikkonen got behind the wheel of the new MP4-17. This was the Finn's first laps in the car and he was almost a full two seconds off of his teammate.

Sauber rookie driver, Felipe Massa took over the testing duties from his teammate Nick Heidfeld. This was the Brazilian's first test in the team's 2002 C21.
