For the driver and his fans alike it always adds a little extra excitement to a race when it's a local hero lining up on the grid. Jaguar's Mark Webber is looking forward to his home race in Australia this weekend and is relaxed about the first race of the season.

"I feel the most relaxed I've ever been actually," Webber told his tem website. "It's really nice to come here with the same team and the same guys and gives you a feeling of stability. It's nice to be driving at home and I'm really looking forward to getting the season underway now. It's a tough race for me off the circuit but once we're on the track, it's good."

Webber, who started his F1 career with Minardi in 2002, is perhaps surprisingly the only Australian driver in F1 for a decade. The last of his compatriots behind the wheel was David Brabham in 1994.

Unfortunately Webber didn't finish last year's Australian GP due to a suspension failure. This time around he's hoping to at least cross the line; a podium is perhaps out of reach and wins will have to wait a while yet. "I'd like to finish and do a good, solid job," he said.

"If we have a good weekend with no mistakes from the team or myself then I think we can go okay. If we do that, then we'll finish where we deserve to finish. Getting onto the podium would be a dream result but I think I've got a bit more to do before we get into the position of being able to win."
