The four times World Champion Sebastian Vettel drove the 2012 Ferrari around Fiorano today, to help get to know the team.
Sebastian Vettel made his first appearance for Ferrari today when he drove the 2012 car at the Maranello team's Fiorano test track.
The German was not allowed to drive the current car in Abu Dhabi this week, and while there's a limit to what he could learn by running with an old V8 machine, it did at least give him a chance to get to know the team.
Vettel ran with a white helmet, albeit with some sponsors on it, and was not wearing Ferrari team gear. The car carried number five, the number he chose last winter should he not be entitled to use the World Champion's number one, although by co-incidence that's also the number Fernando Alonso used when the car was new back in 2012.
This wasn't quite Vettel's first go in an F1 Ferrari as he drove Gerhard Berger's old car in a Red Bull promotion at the Red Bull Ring earlier this year.
