Minardi's Justin Wilson is looking forward to working with newly signed team-mate Jos Verstappen and thinks the experienced Dutchman will be a good for the team. Verstappen was announced as Wilson's partner for 2003 last week although the pair had previously met briefly, at Heathrow, when Wilson was signed by Minardi in December.

"I met him in the lobby, he said 'hello' and 'well done'," Wilson told Autosport. "He seems like a nice guy, so I look forward to meeting him again now he is my team-mate."

"I think he's a good choice because he will be a good benchmark for me. It is definitely good for the team to have someone with his experience, because over the last few years they have only had young drivers, like myself, who have to learn as they go along. Jos can bring the experience of his previous years in Formula 1, and that can only be a good thing."

Wilson has played down recent rumours that he is having problems raising the money to guarantee his future: "It's going quite well," he said. "There's been a bit in the press recently about the deal not looking so solid but that's not true at all. We have five people underwriting the investment and I'm hoping it's going to be completed in the next couple of weeks."
