Michael Schumacher led the way in Saturday testing at Valencia with a fast lap of 1:12.657 seconds. His team mate was not so fortunate. On lap 20, Rubens Barrichello lost control of his Ferrari just before turn 12. He became airborne after hiting the barrier. He was uninjured, but finished for the day. He still was fourth fastest. Both drivers were in their F2001 cars.

Oliver Panis set second fast time overall in the BAR. Ryo Fukuda, BAR's newest test dtiver, put in his first laps in the car. He was eighth quick, almost three seconds behind Schumacher.

The William's drivers were led by Ralf Schumacher's third best time overall, with Antonio Pizzonia and Marc Gene sixth and seventh quick

Testing will condulde tomorrow at the Valenica circuit.
